BEHIND CLEOPATRA

THE DESIGN STORY

The circle is the most unforgiving shape in the world of design. It has no beginning, no end, and no room for imperfection. When we set out to create our first piece, the Cleopatra, we didn't want to follow the trend of soft, collapsible bags. We wanted to build something architectural. Named after the last Queen of the Nile, this bag is a tribute to the power of symmetry. It was designed for the woman who views her wardrobe as a collection of artefacts pieces that are as much about the silhouette they create as the function they serve.

A handbag is a sanctuary for the modern life, a mobile structure designed with mathematical precision. Our process begins with the silhouette a study in balance and proportion and concludes with the structural integrity of every singular stitch. By blending the raw honesty of premium materials with rigorous engineering, we ensure that every piece is built to last and designed to be beautiful. This is the architecture of style.

PRECISION IN FORM

Most circular bags eventually lose their shape, sagging under the weight of daily use. Our architecture prevents this. Every Cleopatra bag is built around a concealed, reinforced frame that acts as a structural skeleton. This ensures that the 360-degree curve remains crisp and intentional from the day you unbox it to a decade later. It is a rigid, sculptural form that stands on its own, demanding attention in any room. We believe that if the silhouette isn't perfect, the bag isn't finished.

AMOR IN LEATHER

To complement the strength of the shape, we selected a premium genuine leather, heat pressed with a deep Crocodile effect grain. This isn't just a stylistic choice, the pressing process actually increases the leather's resistance to scuffs and environmental wear. The 'scales' catch the light in a way that emphasises the bag’s three dimensional curve, creating a play of shadow and highlight that changes as you move. It is a tactile experience rough yet refined, ancient yet contemporary. 

THE DUAL AXIS

In architecture, symmetry creates a sense of calm and luxury. We applied this principle to our hardware. The Cleopatra features a dual-pull gold zipper system that runs along the central axis of the bag. This allows the bag to be opened with equal ease from either side, providing a seamless flow between the left and right hand. The high-polished gold-tone alloy serves as the jewellery of the piece, providing a sharp, metallic contrast to the organic depth of the leather.

FLUID COUNTER BALANCE

While the body of the bag is structured and static, we added the leather tassels to provide a sense of motion. Hand-finished and perfectly weighted, they sway with your gait, offering a soft, organic contrast to the bag's rigid geometry. It is the final layer of our architecture, the marriage of the immovable circle with the fluid motion of the wearer. A balance of power and grace.
